OUTGOING PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – Michael Chang

Aloha ASHRAE Ohana,

I want to thank Albert and all the hardworking individuals who supported ASHRAE Hawaii over the past year.  With all the local,

national, and global events that have been thrown at everyone personally and in their businesses, we have to appreciate the

time put towards giving back to the engineering community and society that the active ASHRAE Hawaii members provide.

For the upcoming year, we will look forward to:

 ·     Providing Technical Education –Through our monthly meetings and Technical Seminar/Product Show

·     Giving Back to the Community – Encourage students to pursue engineering/mechanical trades careers

·     Strengthen Hawaii’s “Mechanical” Industry – Work to communicate and involve all contributors

Five years ago, Joseph Ting, in one of his (in)famous discussions, enlightened me about the contributions of ASHRAE to

Society and the obligation as the beneficiaries of the hard work of all of those who came before us to jump in and do the best

we can to move the society forward in the best direction possible.

So that is what I will try to do this year.

Mahalo,

Michael
